Position Summary:
NSTS is seeking talented Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineers to work on current government and commercial projects. This is an excellent opportunity to on an array of challenging projects across a broad spectrum of the nuclear fuel cycle.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform Criticality Safety Evaluations (CSEs) and calculations in accordance with 10 CFR 70, 10 CFR 71 and DOE-STD-3007-2007.
- Perform independent technical reviews of CSEs and calculations generated by other engineers.
- Assist with procedure development and implementation of governing Criticality Safety Program(s).
- Ensure that software/code work for performing CSEs are verified and validated and ensure that calculations performed for each CSE are validated.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, physics or a related technical field plus a minimum of five years of experience working as a criticality safety engineer.
- Experience in developing criticality safety calculations evaluations compliant with 10 CFR 70, 10 CFR 71 and the Department of Energy standard DOE-STD-3007 (2007), or equivalent.
- Knowledge and application experience in the ANSI/ANS-8 series standards.
- Experience in process hazards analyses and related hazard evaluation techniques.
- US citizen or Permanent Resident.
