Position Summary:

NSTS is seeking talented Radiological Engineers to work on current projects. This is an excellent opportunity to support clients in the area of source term development, shielding and dose assessments, and radiation protection calculations and analyses.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform source term calculations, shielding and dose assessments and radiation exposure calculations and analyses using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g., RADTRAD, MCNP, MicroShield, Skyshine, MACCS2), with little to no supervision.
  • Perform independent reviews of radiological calculations and analyses generated by other engineers;
  • Assist with procedure and standards development.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, physics or a related technical field plus a minimum of five years of experience working as a radiological engineer.
  • Experience in developing radiological safety calculations and analyses compliant with 10 CFR 50, 10 CFR 70, 10 CFR 71 and Department of Energy standards.
  • Knowledge and application experience in the standards and requirements of 10 CFR 21 and the quality assurance requirements of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and NQA-1.
  • US citizen or Permanent Resident.
